The INTELSAT II communications satellite and its Thrust Augmented Improved Delta await launch today at Cape Kennedy's Complex 17. Launched by NASA for the Communications Satellite Corporation, it will orbit more than 22,000 miles above the Earth, providing another link in the worldwide communications network. INTELSAT will relay telephone, teletype, television and other communications traffic between Earth stations thousands of miles apart.
