With the help of suit technicians, STS-80 Mission Specialist Tamara E. Jernigan becomes familiar with entering and exiting the Space Shuttle Columbia through its crew hatch which opens into the white room at Launch Pad 39B. She and the other four members of the STS-80 crew are participating in the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Tests (TCDT), a dress rehearsal for launch. The STS-80 mission, the seventh and final Shuttle flight of 1996, will feature two spacewalks and the deployment, operation and retrieval of two scientific satellites, the Orbiting Retrievable Far and Extreme Ultraviolet Spectrometer-Shuttle Pallet Satellite-2 (ORFEUS-SPAS-2) and the Wake Shield Facility-3 (WSF- 3).
