STS-80 crew members prepare to board the astronaut van which will take them from the Operations and Checkout Building to Launch Pad 39B, where they are scheduled to lift off on the Space Shuttle Columbia on Nov. 8. The five astronauts are participating in a dress rehearsal for launch called the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT). Leading the way, front row from left, are Pilot Kent V. Rominger and Commander Kenneth D. Cockrell. Immediately behind them are Mission Specialists Tamara E. Jernigan, Thomas D. Jones and Story Musgrave. The STS-80 mission, the seventh and final Shuttle flight of 1996, will feature two spacewalks and the deployment, operation and retrieval of two scientific satellites, the Orbiting Retrievable Far and Extreme Ultraviolet Spectrometer-Shuttle Pallet Satellite-2 (ORFEUS-SPAS- 2) and the Wake Shield Facility-3 (WSF-3).
