The space shuttle Columbia astronauts photographed this Southern Hemisphere cyclone named Daniella, as it gathered force off the east coast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Being in the Southern Hemisphere it spins clockwise, just the opposite of the Northern Hemisphere hurricanes and typhoons.
