During STS-47, the Spacelab-Japan (SL-J) module exterior is photographed through the aft flight deck windows. SL-J module is located in the payload bay of Endeavour, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105, and connected to the crew compartment via the spacelab (SL) transfer tunnel. In the foreground, is the SL tunnel and support struts. On SL-J's forward end cone is the insignia of the SL-J mission. Rising behind the SL-J module are the vertical tail and the two orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods. In the distant background is the Earth's surface.
