In the Orbiter Processing Facility, STS-104 Mission Specialist Michael Gernhardt (left) and Pilot Charles Hobaugh (right) check out the slidewire used during extravehicular activities to keep the astronauts tethered to the orbiter. The STS-104 crew is at KSC to continue Crew Equipment Interface Test activities such as payload familiarization. The Joint Airlock Module is the primary payload on their mission, scheduled to launch no earlier than June 14, 2001, from Launch Pad 39B.
