A remote-activated camera located on the 500-foot (152-meter) weather tower west of Launch Pad 39B yields a new and spectacular view of a Space Shuttle launch. Shown is the Shuttle Columbia as it soars skyward on Mission STS-75 following an ontime liftoff at 3:18:00 p.m. EST, Feb. 22. The weather tower is located about two miles (11,640 feet/3.2 kilometers) due west of the pad, affording a clear line-of-sight to the vehicle as it clears the launch tower.
