Giving the thumbs up gesture from the lower crew cabin deck aboard the Space Shuttle orbiter Atlantis are STS-81 Mission Specialists Marsha S. Ivins and J.L. "Jerry" Linenger. The crew was participating in the final phase of the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) exercises for that mission at Launch Pad 39B, a simulated final countdown until just before main engine ignition.
