Susan Danley, a windows engineer for NASA, discusses the Orion spacecraft's progress with news media members during a tour of the facilities and vehicles at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida that will be used in the proving ground of research and engineering to set up a future journey to Mars. Lockheed Martin is building Orion, which will be assembled in the Operations and Checkout Building's High Bay for the first exploration mission in 2018. That flight will not carry astronauts, but Orion is designed to take crews into deep space on future missions.
