In a clean room at the Astrotech Space Operations facility in Titusville, Florida, workers prepare to enclose NASA's Magnetospheric Multiscale observatories (MMS) in an Atlas payload fairing for launch. MMS, led by a team from the Goddard Space Flight Center, consists of four identical spacecraft that will work together to provide the first three-dimensional view of magnetic reconnection, a fundamental process which occurs throughout the universe. Launch aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex 41 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is targeted for March 12. To learn more about MMS, visit www.nasa.gov/mms.
