NASA's fourth Lunar Orbiter picture-taking spacecraft lifted off atop an Atlas-Agena launch vehicle at 6:25 p.m., EDT, from Cape Kennedy's Launch Complex 13. The 860-pound spacecraft will go into polar orbit around the moon and will conduct a broad photographic survey of both its front and hidden sides, orbiting between 3,800 miles and 1,650 miles at its farthest and closest points, respectively. The flight to the moon will take approximately 89 hours.
