In the Space Station Processing Facility (SSPF), the Spacehab Double Module is being transferred into the payload canister transporter. Preflight preparation of the pressurized mini-laboratory was completed by McDonnell Douglas for Spacehab developer Spacehab, Incorporated, at its Port Canaveral facilities. Once in the canister, the Double Module configuration - about to fly in space for the first time - will be taken directly to Launch Pad 39A for installation in the payload bay of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. This streamlined processing means the Spacehab payload does not need to be placed in the Orbiter while it is still in the Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF). The Spacehab Double Module is flying on the STS-79 mission, the fourth docking between the United States Space Shuttle and the Russian Mir Space Station. KSC-96PC-0868
